They have that ford making some torque down low. 735 ft/lbs @ 1600 rpm. Pretty impressive for a v8.

Well if they up the ante, we know that the Cummins, in its medium duty greatness, should never have any problems being turned up a little to stay competitive. Dodge has brought a gun to a knife fight when it comes to the diesel market.

Well I read the article on the new super duty and if they are as good as stated I take back all I said. Maybe they are safe towing huge loads and they do sound great. Look out Dodge and GM, Ford looks like they are going to kick some (edit).

Let's get in the time machine for a minute here. Let's rewind back to 2003... remember how great the new and improved 6.0 Power Stroke was? Now let's fast forward a bit to 2007. Remember how the Power Stroke was miraculously saved, since they dumped the 6.0 in favor of the twin turbo 6.4? Jump back to present day 2010, the new and upcoming 6.7 Power Stroke is the answer to all of Ford's diesel problems.

Not saying that this engine is going to have problems like every other stroke since the 7.3, but I'm not going to base my trust on the words of the media outlets. Everything new is always great to them.

O' so true! I think I still like the old saying. " Six in a row, meant to tow". There must be some truth to that as I think all big rigs are in-line 6's. Good luck to them, they are trying.

I saw a post in another forum that stated the new Ford diesel engine can get 17-19 mpg, I will not believe that story until I see it with my own two eyes.

I don't understand why "Fords first diesel" is such a significant deterrent to some people and their reason to try and justify their comments against it. It's not like we're back in the60's or 70's when technology was way less advanced and the motors were smokey turds and they probably did a lot guesswork in the engineering department. I'm sure that with the modern technology we have, CAD and everything that's been learned in the past that they've designed an engine that's going to perform very well and will be reliable. While I'm not going to run out and buy one, I still just don't feel like getting the cocky attitude and trashing it. Now if 6 months or a year from now there are problems, sure I'll jump in but lets see what it does first.

So what your saying is that the Powerstroke has become the Microsoft Windows of the diesel world.
