Unhappy 1998 12 valve wrecked

I got a call at 6:00 am from the night operator that the day operator fell asleep on his way to work. His truck flipped at least once and hit the ditch HARD. I went out In case I needed to cover the shift and talk to the operator to see if he was hurt. He was fine!! The truck was a 1998 12 valve with 160k on it and no mods except a front replacement bumper.
it held up real well in the crash , so he wasn't hurt. The Cummins never quit, he turned the key off. I wonder what insurance will pay him? Here are 2 pictures .

Were they called quad cabs back then? It was in great shape. I hope insurance doesn't play him to bad. He said he is going to buy a Tacoma because he doesn't tow any more.

At least he's ok, and at least it wasn't a SWB truck, that'd be a real shame.

That's a real wicked shame, but I guess the Cummins and many other parts will go on to live another day. Wish I had that sweet front bumper

I would try and work a deal on the wreck with the insurance company. If you can get it from them cheap enough you can then sell it for parts. They will negotiate on the buy back price, at least mine did. I got them to to knock 2k off the buy back price. Most insurance company's would rather sell it back to the owner than have to sell it themselves.
