PS is a european unit for measuring horsepower. If I remember correctly 1ps= about 1.2hp.

I pretty certain referring to the nissan sd33 and sd33t that was in the scout. Also ford did install cummins diesel engines in there trucks in the south american market.

The Nissan engines listed above are correct. I just happen to recall these as I was a Scout fan back then and had an old Nissan Patrol myself. (Not to be confused with Datsun)

IIRC, the turbo version came out in '80 and a 4wd magazine test drive of it said the only thing this (diesel powered Scout) was good for was pulling bulldozers out of bogs.
