General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Thumbs up 1/4 Mile @ 7.4 ET CTD

I was at the Fall Nationals at Dallas this weekend and there was a exhibition run of a 2002 CTD stuffed in a Dakota that turned a 1/4 mile in 7.4 @ 157mph

Comp said he ran an 8.72 @ 154 on the 26th...

It is a P-Pumped 24V with twins. Heavily associated with Dr. Performance, and right now, I think he's the fastest, but has a couple other specialty built, and "rail" racers ready to play catch up.

He ran an 8.72 at 154 mph. The previous fastest diesel pass was a 9.21 by the old detroit powered race truck/blazer. I've seen the timeslip as it is posted over at the TDR by Comp who is the driver of the truck. I've never the Banks truck run quicker than low 12s. Garmons old Dakota is much quicker as is the TS quad Cab 4X4 full size truck when your talking full framed driveable trucks. Comp better keep picking it up as their are a bunch of people on his heels in the tube chassis drag type setups.

he was entered in super gas or super comp, 9.90 or 10.90 index for the weekend, got his butt handed to him. i think he tried to stage early and get the turbos spolled but his competitor shot in quick and had him beat before the lights ever droped. it was a good fast run he did for exibition. terrible reaction time also, might still be learing the spooling curve for the new set up.
