06' Dodge

I was at the dealer today talked to a salesman about the 06'. Since Dodge sold Cummins to Ford a while back, Dodge is coming out with with a Supercab 6" longer and are going to run the Mercedes diesel motor in the 06's. Has anybody heard of this as well????? Where is Dodge going with this and why????

Do you really believe everything you hear? Who ever told you that don't know his butt from a hole in the ground. Super cab is true but everything else is false man.

First off,.......Welcome to the DTR site.

Now for the meat of the matter..............

A: Dodge does not own Cummins.

B: Ford doesn't own Cummins either.

C: Dodge's contract with Cummins to supply engines runs to at least 2007.

D: Dodge's contract with Cummins for technical support was recently extended. (although exact details aren't available)

E: I'm sure Ford would love to be able to offer the Cummins in their pickups.
I'm also sure Dodge isn't going to let that happen anytime soon.

Did you happen to mention the merger announced on cnn about d/c buying out fomoco? And they plan on making car sales automated in 06 as well, just like walmart with their checkout. There reason was to eliminate stupid salesman that are hurting sales.

I'm betting his first post (the one that started this thread) was a sly hit and run... wonder if he will be back to elaborate more?

I wonder if that salesman went to the same training school as the one that told Shortround that Dodge was coming out with a
"Double Overhead-Cam, Hemi-Diesel".

I thought Genos Garage owned Cummings Georgia. Or are you now saying Genos owns Ford, who owns Cummings Georgia?

I thought Daimler Chrystler was owned by Cummins, which is owned by Ford.
With Ford being a subsiderary of International, which we all know is owned by Case Equipement and Case being located directly accross the steet from Briggs and Stratton means, of course, that all future lawnmowers will be powered by Mercedes diesels, and be 6 inches longer with more power and torque than any other mower in its class.
