Offroad diesel on the road legally?

Not quite sure how that would be accomplished.
Red diesel is dyed because it's designated for off road use ONLY.
Right after Katrina, the Govt allowed "red" to be run on the road due to a shortage of on-road diesel.
Taxes were paid by the fuel station and you had to carry the receipt to prove you were legal if you went through a roadside check.
That ended months ago.
The possible hassles outweigh any possible gains.
IMHO

That was for a limited time, and I didn't like the idea then. I've never seen anyone pump offroad into anything other than a can or transfer tank. It would look very much out of place to see someone pumping into a truck.
Very expen$ive fines too..............

Except when emergency laws are enacted such as after Katrina the only vehicles that can legally run red fuel on road are governmental. This includes school buses.
Even if a vehicle never runs on the public roads if it is registered to run on road it can't legally use red fuel.
