Future diesel prices, $4+?
I was talking to a guy who does some hotshotting. he said hed heard diesel prices could be over $4 in June, but that gas would stay down. And that over the roaders/ train comp.s were gonna go on strike to get diesel back below gas. Any sounds of truth in this? I figure diesel will be a good bit over $3. I paid 2.89 here yesterday.

amen on that one. the only reason diesel is higher is cause sales didn't drop like gas did when it made the biggest increase last couple of years. a bunch of bull if ya ask me.

Diesel went from $2.57 last week to $3.09 Monday in Montana. First time I've seen over $3/ga.
What I find hard to understand is why it's so high when all fuel used in Montana is drilled and refined from within the state, none is imported.

I paid as high as $3.49 for diesel last year in northern California. Right now it just went up to $2.93 today locally here. Last Bio I bought was $3.29. Diesel over $4.00 does not sound that far off to me....but I don't see gas staying cheap either. It has been shooting up here even faster and farther than diesel.

Why would truckers care? The consumer pays for the fuel surcharge. Besides, fuel is getting to be like movie stars. The more focus and attention it gets, the price to get it is gonna go up. It's all media hype and BS, but hey, what do I know?

Yeah me too. This is getting outrageous
Gas is heading that way too...

At this rate we'll probably be around $10/gal within 5 years.

The reason we are not making synfuel is because GE owns the rights to the process and seems to have no interest in doing anything with it. I've read else where that anything above $35 a barrel and they are making money with this process, anyone think oil will ever be below $35 a barrel ever again? I think GE's rights should be suspended and we should be building the plants for this as fast as we can (side note you can use the "dirty coal" for this process that can not be burned in a powerhouse)
