Fuel availability, stations are running out

Left Tampa Fl area this am, filled up as I was leaving Floridia, got into Tenn slightly below 1/2 tank and stopped at 3 stations till I found diesel, all were out of fuel. 2 were also out or almost out of gas. Prices atarted at $2.77 up to $2.99 so far. Visiting in Tenn tomorrow, Friday, and home to Mi Sometime Sat as long as I can find fuel.

Got re routed in the Gulf of Mexico to Port everglades on our aniversary cruise, 6 hour bus ride (was better than the 30 foot waves in Tampa bay) and no fuel getting home. Think someone is trying to tell me something.

Good luck to all on the road and God Bless to all in the Devistated Gulf regions.

Don

I heard on the radio driving home tonight that 3 of the major airports in the US are running very low on jet fuel so imagine what that'll do to things.

It's all a load of bs....we have the fuel it is a ploy by the greedy oil companies to make more money.......The ceo's of the the oil companies, refineries and such should be hauled outside and have the **** kicked out of them. Like I have said before....oil and insurance are going to break this country.

Local news is reporting gas stations are recieving notice from their distributors to sell specific amounts of fuel per day.
Overages will result in reductions in future shipments.

Go tell that to my friends right now. Working 24/7 over there right now trying to repair the pumping stations, replacing motors and trying to get emergency generators in to start the pipelines back up.

So what are you doing to help?

Actually, I'm conserving by riding the Harley to work.
That leaves more gas for the scoccer moms in the Ford Excusions to fight over.
5 gallons will last me a week.
Take your time.........

I want to get my new coolant in the truck, it has flush in the radiator right now so after this week I'll probably park the Dodge and get out the MB. 21mpg versus 31+mpg.

Quit burning diesel

I quit burning diesel (well almost, I still start and shut down on it) a year ago. I got over 3200 miles on my last full tank. Converting to WVO has saved 800-1000 gallons for someone else to burn.

I just went and filled up at lunch cuz guys got me all paranoid There is no rationing or outage here as far as I know of. I paid 2.80 for 50 cetane diesel supreme, and filled to the brim. I figure I should stock up since prices are going nuts. I may start riding my go-ped to work, it gets 120mpg lol.... I dont know if I could take the chiding and harassment that comes with riding it though...

Fuel availability

A barrel of crude costs $70. To refine it costs another $7-14. To market it costs another $10. So, roughly the net price, before taxes (fed & state) = $2.24/gal. The feds get 0.24 and my state adds 0.14. That makes it $2.62/gal. We have one of the lowest state tax on fuel. Currently in Cody the price of diesel is $2.999, in Billings it's 2.799 (which has one of the highest state fuel taxes at 0.2775)

It's funny I haven't seen anything on the refineries being down(I have heard about it ) but thats all.....all you see on tv is that new orleans is flooded......I would think that if it is that bad for the refineries(sp) you would see them on the news since everyone is BIT****, They haven't let one camera crew in the refineries since this has all happened....just sounds a little funny to me........ Just another play to rape the american public. But since you have never compained you can go ahead and speak....Mikey B.
