b99 in an 07?
can i do it? i asked the dealer about any warranty issue and the person at the counter didnt recomend it. He said to wait until 100k warranty is over. doesnt make sense to me but i dont want to push the issue as i dont have an extra 10 grand right now. average temps in sc are 60.

Below is the official word from Cummins on Bio. But if you do use more then the 5% Dodge has OK'ed then you best install a second fuel filter to strip out the excess the water in Bio diesel. I've read about a guy who makes his own and runs 100% Bio in his 2006 5.9. If you ever need warranty work don't take it in with more then 5% Bio in your tank or they may Void your warranty.
================================================== ========
A maximum blend of 5% biodiesel (B5) is acceptable as long as the biodiesel mixture meets ASTM specification D-975, D-975 - grade S-15, and ASTM D6751. A biodiesel fuel blend that is higher than 5% is not acceptable without additional fuel processing because these higher percentage biodiesel blends contain excess amounts of moisture which exceed the water stripping capability of the on-engine final fuel filter. Should a higher percentage biodiesel fuels be used an auxiliary water stripping filter will be required.
A maximum blend of 20% biodiesel (B20) can be used by government, military, and commercial fleets who equip their vehicle(s) with an optional water separator, and adhere to the guidelines in the Department of Defense specification A-A-59693 (in addition to: ASTM specification D-975, D-975 - grade S-15 and ASTM D6751)

Correct, manufacturers of diesel engines can not void your warranty for purchasing retail B20 biodiesel.
If you do run biodiesel, keep the reciepts for fuel purchases.
If you make it yourself or buy homebrew, youre just silly and deserve to pay up $8,000 for a new engine.

Heres the latest info from cummins for those interested:
http://www.houstonbiodiesel.com/asse...CumminsB20.pdf
In summary, B20 for all 2002 and newer ram diesel engines is OK.

FYI, Dodge takes care of your warranty on the engine not Cummins so if you get caught with more then 5% Bio in your tank and need warranty work they can say tough you have to pay for the repair work.
