Got my dash harness swapped out today with the decent weather we had here.

Mark, I see what you mean. I have an extra plug at the base of the firewall that goes back under the carpet. I assume its for my rear window defroster. Does that one also work my back speakers and both lights in the headliners? You say I need to use the steering column from the 90. I purchased a air intake plate with both sensors in it. Which low pressure switch are you referring to? I am adding the crank sensor, air intake plate, and damper from a 1993. What else will I need to swap to utilize a 1993 truck engine harness to use with the 93 dash harness and steering column? All help is appreciated. Thank you

 

How's the swap coming? I think about mine alot but haven't got started. I just need a couple nice days to pull the motor and axles out of my donor and then its on!!

 

^ Two weekends ago I removed the RC's dash harness and installed the diesel. Then I installed the clutch peddles. Since the weather hasnt been nice since thats where it sits. I have been picking Mark Nixon's brain for helpful insights to the swap. I am also waiting for nicer days to pull the 5.2 and auto. Then I will pull the diesel, getrag, and np205 to freshen them up and swap over the neccasary items to the motor to work with the 1992 diesel engine harness and computer. I am always thinking about your clean RC. Its so clean and I love the silver.

Well its been awhile since I posted but I have gotten a lot done. I got the engine in Sunday. I also just bought a nv4500 to use instead of the getrag. Here is some updated pics

I want to thank UPS for delivering my AA kit on the porch of a person in Florida!!!!! Not happy, I was hopeing to possibly get my tranny in this weekend but thats not going to happen. I removed the bearing retainer to take down to my local machine shop to shorten it.

 

Nice work. I still haven't made much progress on mine, other than aquiring pieces.

 

^ Thats the hard part. Finding what you need. I am still buying pieces as I had intended to use the getrag but for what I paid on the nv4500 I couldnt pass it up. I am waiting on AA as not only did they mess up my shipping label they sent me a non gated shifter kit. So I am waiting on the correct shifter bracket and for the bearing retainer from the machine shop. I am also going old school for the shifter. I love pistol grips

On another note I am now also buying up items for a new project. I am going to use your truck and put a 8ft stepside on it. Thats probably what I will use the getbag for.

Mark I think we are brothers from another mother. I love different and rare! Here is my bed. I drove 17 hrs round trip to get mine from upstate VT. These things are rare as hell! It came from FL and is totally rust free. The bed floor doesnt have one ding but oddly the tailgate is bowed.

 

Wow. Great score. That old club cab is going to need a lot of work, good luck!!!! I just finished my township mandated sewer/water project so I can get back to working on my Mopars.

Are you saying that YOURS is the all-STEEL floor?
If so, that is a real find, as the only ones I have seen that were steel-floored are SHORT BEDS.

Mine is a long box from a '67-ish truck with totally dry-rotted wood floor boards, but it does have a darned near PERFECT "DODGE" embossed tailgate.

It kinda' screams "Narrowed Dually Rear End with Sectioned Rear Fenders!"
I suppose you could use a C&C axle and @ a 4 inch section in the fenders.
Since the fenders just bolt on, I have also contemplated a spacer between the bed and the fenders, so a person wouldn't need to cut up the fenders.

By now you should know that I am quite the Dually fan.

Mark you are correct, mine is from a 1984 and it is a steel floor. Thats the reason the 17hr round trip was worth it to me. I looked for over a year for one. Hens teeth!!!! I am 31 and I have only ever seen one other steel floored 8ft stepside. That guy is saving it for his son;(. Anyways, the floor is imaculate. Here is what it looks like.


On a side note yesterday I started working on getting my tranny back together and tried to get it in. But rain from Irene ended things quit early. I did get my clutch slave assembly in and the carrier bearing and imput shaft in on my nv4500. Also torqued in my flywheel and front damper bolts.

Mark, the Damcharger is a dead give away on your love for duallies. As for the project for the bed I am thinking suspension lift and big tires.

That's definitely a nice one.
That Pistol Grip looks like the '70 'B' body non-console style, but it's hard to tell with the angle of the photos.

Good thing the NV4500 is a tighter shifting tranny, the '70 style Pistol Grip is one LONG, odd-bent, club.
I can remember several times where a buddy of mine slammed his fist into the dash on his '70 'X because the handle would pop out of the shifter box, due to the rinky dink retainers getting worn and breaking.

At least you have the possibility of BOLTING it on.
