Coolant type to use

Just cleaned my radiator, what is the best coolant to use, can it be mixed, with red coolant from walmart or auto zone??? or do i need to go to dodge

Not sure what year engine you're running but if you completely clean out the old stuff, you can run anything you want. The 3rd gens (don't know about others) used a HOAT formula from the factory. If you can find Zerex G05, that's the same thing but it's harder to find than the other types. I really like the HOAT. I changed my coolant after 4 years and there was no rust or corrosion in the system at all. Try that with the green stuff.

Dexcool seems to be much easier to find (I think that's probably the red stuff you refer to). It's an OAT formula so I wouldn't mix it with the factory HOAT but it's also supposed to be "extended life". It should work if you flush the system well.
