when to spray water/meth

Hey whats up,
Im going to be running my truck at the strip sat. and i just hooked up my water/meth to try it out. I will be running a 50/50 mix. My pump has two settings that run off boost, one starts the spray and one will max the spray. Im not shure one what boost i should start the spray and what boost i should max the spary. Should i just keep it on max and dont worry about the spray or should i use both??

Thanks,
Nate

Bump.

You might try this in the comp/pulling forum. More geared toward this kind of thing.

Set the start at around 18-20psi and the full on about 5psi lower than your max boost. Are you running Snows stage 2 kit? what nozzles are you running? you should also be able to turn the pump pressure up to the max.

I have the dual stage Snow kit starting at 12psi and full on at 35psi with one 300 jet and one 600 jet and the pump at max. No problems putting the flame out so far. 50/50 mix.

No trouble with the flame with a 50'/50 mix. OK, but what about detination in the engine. We got it with 47 %. We find ours at its peak around 25-30%, although we only have one racer spraying water. Everybody else in on diesel only.

My timing is advanced 17 degrees and I still don't get any pre-detonation when I spray. It has never been a problem for me at 50/50. I have heard others complain about it though.

Oh. The timing I'm talking about is 25-35 degrees. At 47 % there was so much detonation we lost HP on the dyno. At 808 HP you can't argue with 25 %.
