When Peter talks listen haha

Well did my second pull tonight with the con fe 4 gear low range and apparently it looked like a sparkler was lit under my truck going down the track and I smoked the clutch pretty bad its slipping real bad now. Peter warned me not to pull with the fe and he was right of course. Looks like its dual disk time for me. I went a whopping 254 feet and did more clutch spinning than tires.

I pulled at the Delaware County Fair near me. Apparently from what everyone says it looked like a sparkler under my truck the whole way down the track. I wasnt really spinning any tires and my ground speed was terrible in four gear low range. Something was spinning and it wasnt the tires. Now my clutch is slipping really bad. I have a feeling right from when I got the sled moving the clutch was being roasted.

You do that and your gonna have more things to worry about then a burnt up clutch. The point of a dual disc is so you can slip it more to get the truck moving.

I was starting to think I was the only one that thought that. Seems like everybody wanting to get into pulling gets a double disk, holds the engine to redline, and side steps the clutch. Yeah, everybody, pulling really is that easy, just try it. I promise nothing will happen.......

I understand that will break things. What I was trying so say was now I can open the truck up to a pre determined RPM and just let the clutch out and not worry about roasting the clutch. With the FE I attempted to feather the clutch a little off the line until the truck got moving. Didnt really help me out too much.

Sidenote: Let me tell ya pulling is not that easy at all. I did terrible my first two pulls and got smacked by trucks with less horsepower. What I dont understand is I am fairly easy on my truck and there are guys out there just ***** to the walls with stock trucks and they do fine and dont break anything. Im hoping my poor performance was mostly due to the fact that my clutch was slipping.
