what should i run in the quarter

That truck will pull hard to 3400RPM with a drag comp. You wont run out of RPM.With a stock turbo,I would run in 4x4,and leave at 12-15 psi of boost. My stock output shaft held up for over a yr at 20PSI+.Ive never seen anyone break one at less than 20psi of boost.I have the same truck setup,a 4.10 4x4 with drag comp, stock turbo will leave very hard, even at only 10-15psi.Dont bother with slicks or 27" tires, run the stockers, and run in 4wd.My truck was in the high 13s with the stock turbo, drag comp Diesel Dynamics 3's,and a DTT trans. On a 99,your TC will not lock by itself until your in OD a while.A lockup switch, forced in 3rd gear will reduce your et by .2-.4 tenths and add 2-5mph easily, depending on how loose your TC is.
When you race it,only beam into the first yellow, let your opponent hit both beams first, then slowly build boost in 4x4,once you got 10 psi ease off the throttle to hold it at 10-15psi,then inch forward, light the second beam,do not get ahead of yourself, and just mash it,with the brakes on,you will break your output shaft. You need to watch the boost guage until you have it steady at 10-15psi and you into the 2nd beam, then hold the throttle steady, and watch the tree. With the aggressive fueling of the comp box,you need to be careful building boost,it climbs very quickly once you have a few PSI. If you need to practice, practice in 2wd,this way if you overboost, you will simply spin your tires.Do not practice more than twice in a row, without driving it a bit,or letting it idle in N for a minute to cool the TC,it builds a lot of heat when powerbraking to build boost. When you leave,,lift off the brakes, and mash it,the truck will leap out of the hole in 4x4.I raced over 100 passes with my stock output shaft,it finally snapped when i broke my own rule, and tried to build boost from a 5 mph roll, racing a bad camaro SS,the B1 turbo lit a little slower than the stocker i was used to,but once it did,it built boost much faster. The stock shaft snapped at about 30psi. Sorry this post got so long, hopefully something here will help you.
