Theres guy putting down 700-800hp on dyno jets running LARGE turbos and not whining about it.

Streetsmoker, 490 is dead on for the mods you have.

As soon as my tranny is back together and the twins are completed....hopefully by next July 18. I'm going to SuperFlow. Then I'll probably be rebuilding something the next couple of weeks. ks

Yeh Pourin' cause that was only 23hp lower than my sig. that I pulled on the same type dyno at Dynospeed in Memphis, TN. Funny thing is now that I have my new turbo I don't know what it will show. I will go back to the same one, cause even though I don't 100% trust Dynojet's, they are very accurate usually in showing improvements in power. I can tell you one thing though. Pre turbo best 1/4mi et was 13.45@103.2mph. After turbo I run consistant 12.9-13.0sec. passes at 106-108mph. Nothing but turbo has changed!!! Can a turbo upgrade really add that much? I heard that usually 50hp is max. But if you do the calculations I've picked up nearly 100hp(20hp/10th) does that sound rite?

First, like mentioned Dyno Jet has a couple different models, 248 which has 48" rollers, 224 which has 24" and they now offer a loading 224.

Loading dyno's are not built because " you cannot achieve full boost on a non loading unit". Trust me when I say the diesel market, or "turbo" market is small compared to the other markets. Load cells are used so loads can be applied for other tuning reasons, and road test.

Snow White has never run a 10 or a low 11 to my knowledge. And from what I understand, the best time of 11.55 was run with N20.

I have seen numbers that "didn't look right" on Superflow's too.

But lets look at what many say about Dyno Jets. "They read higher than Mustang". "Can't build full boost on a Dyno Jet". How do those two statements make sense? If you can't build full boost, then how do you make more power?

Many say they calculate different from what the dyno says. So do we say the dyno is wrong, or do we say a calculator, that is estimating based on factors that are not always correct, is wrong?

Like mentioned, I have seen 135 psi on my rollers. If a truck can make 135 psi then why does someone else have problems making 50 psi?

If I only make 450hp on a Dyno Jet yet I make 550hp on a load cell, was the Dyno Jet wrong? Was the load cell wrong? I think that is what most are trying to answer and fact is there is no answer that will be correct in every circumstance.

Not that my opinion matters much, but I have seen some pretty cool things and met some pretty cool people in this form of motorsport, and while some will insist that a Dynojet is crap, I personally have seen everything that David has been talking about backed up at the track. I have seen trucks that need a load to spool not make as much HP on David's dyno and I have watched their owners scratch their head and **** and moan and drive off in a lag pig. The Dynojet is a helluva tool to see how mods will react on the street. I have heard David and Jeff both say "If it dont work on the dyno, then it wont work on the street" And that is very true.
