Scott made two crazy pulls that I saw but I left after the 2nd. What was with all the lugging until about 100ft scott? You playing with those ford boys or did it take that long to light off that turbo?

There was a white regular cab ford out there that had blocks in the rear and straps holding down the front end that made some great pulls too, I thought blocks were illegal though, didn't they catch you running them Mark and protest your pulls?

Either way the new owners of the track are doing a great job they advertised locally on the radio, I think that is a big part of the large turnout, 31 diesel entrants alone.

Soon enough it will be time to split the diesel class, maybe a street class and an outlaw class? Something like that anyway. If the popularity continues to grow I think we will see some pretty serious trucks start to get built around here, which is why they should split the class now, and set up some firm rules for each one. I don't think they would have too much trouble finding a few diesel heads who wouldn't mind volunteering to do a tech inspection to keep the rules in check.

I saw that with blocks, tech inspection was pretty lienent to be nice about it. The new owners did a great job ,but I agree it needs to split into 2 classes. I know of one truck that came in on a trailer.

Yeah it took about 100ft to get that turbo to lite....but once it lit it took off pretty well. Looking at some tq converter options to try to get a few more RPM's before I launch it. Yeah blocks werent allowed, but that ford that beat me was running blocks...well actually welded shocks, but same thing. Also heard he was spraying some nitrous which also wasnt allowed, but who knows. My truck was trailered down there, but that had nothing to do with streetability, I drive it everyday. I live about 1.5 hrs away, and didnt want to be walking back if I broke something. I called and asked and they said they didnt care if we trailered, if they had said no, I have no issue driving it down there

The new owners are all former ford plant employees. More power to em, they put on a great show, but they should get some dedicated tech guys who can at least try and be unbiased.
I've got no problem with people trailering their trucks to the pull, like Scott said I would hate to drive my truck there only to break and be left stranded.
That makes the different classes seem even better too, if you didn't depened on that truck to drive everyday some people might consider going with a more radical setup and trailering the trucks to the events. It could elevate the competition and draw more fans in to see how wild people will get.
At the least they should have a street class that would be limited to bolt on parts, ie intake, exhaust, tunners, fuel plates for us 12vers, and stock type suspension. And then some kind of unlimited or outlaw class that would only have rules for safety, ie exhaust pointing up or down, driveshaft loops, things like that. It wouldn't be hard, they could go off of a dhra rulebook to make it easy on everyone, you can already download that and know extactly what is expected when you show up.

I heard that the reg cab Ford got busted for weights in the cab, but cannot confirm that is the case or not.

Scott, your truck was sick man - I got good video of it, I will do my best to get up soon...

Thanks for the complimemnts guys I appreciate it. I dont know what happened in the pull off...I think my foot actually bounced on the pedal at the end of the track and that slight reduction in fuel caused that turbo to surge and once it did that there was no spooling it back up and that is why it stopped so abruptly. It felt like it was still cruising pretty good when that happened....but that ended it real quick. Oh well

Heck yeah, normally we have a truck backed in down near the end of the track on the side opposite the pit area. This next time, my Green truck should be backed in over there as I am probably not gonna trailer it anymore to prevent any questions as to its "streetability"

I agree with you fellas, there should be 2 classes, it is not fair for a mostly stock truck like mine to have to pull against somebody that has twins or whatever. Kinda takes the fun factor right out of it, knowing that unless that other person breaks, you have a very slight chance.

I dont have any problem with trailering the truck either, because just like Scott said, sometimes if you live far away and you break something, you need a way to get home. However, I think that if you trailer it, you should have it registered and tagged, that way, people know it is street legal.

I'm sorry I couldnt make it to the pull and see it. I honestly doubt that I will be able to make it to any this year. I have a lot on my plate right now with working and going to school, and am going to be in summer school this summer, so hopefully I can graduate on time. Who knows though, I might make it to one or 2 of them.

Chet-Get off your butt, go down the county, and buy that 96. Call me for more info if you're interested, heard from the guy Friday night while I was in Raleigh.

Run what you brung. I respect the fact I would loose to a guy with a kickass truck. Its completely fair if the truck is licensed and tagged.
