Put it on the low side, put the gear selecter in 2nd and stand on it. Give it a little brake off the line to get some boost up. Don't get to much boost or wou will break something. If you have a stock auto be prepared to fork out some money if you pull it to much.

Why just second? I put mine in drive with o/d off in 4 lo. Last weekend my truck was bouncing off rev limiter in drive with tow haul on. Leave at 10 to 15psi boost and lock up convertor at 1st set of cones. This is were I normally pick up most of my speed. When sled starts to pull hard unlock convertor, thats good for at least another 10 ft.

Becareful doing this, it is possible to tear the rear sprag out of the case doing that.
I start out in with the selector in 1st so the rear band is applied, then bump to 2nd and lock the converter if I can.

Hey nobody was chiming in so I gave my 2cents never said I was right lol. Thats what I did when I pulled my 2004 with an auto. Also blowinsmoke I think you may have a touch more horsepower than him say 200 you have no problem in drive. But I've seen alot of other trucks try to grab 3rd and cost them 10ft.
