Smarty - New 1/4 ET Videos

Well thanks to TJ AKA MrDestinE on DTW (Great Guy even if he drives a Hemi powered truck) and his son I have a couple of videos of 12s runs September 3 at Houston Raceway Park. Not the best videos, but I had to massage them through 3 different editing and conversion programs. I have not done any video editing in a couple of years and it shows. Probably not the best place to tape my runs from either.

The time slip is under each run video. Stack TST w/twins 2/0, EZ 3, Smarty SW 8.

Man I would love to. I just don't have the $$$ to do all of the right things for now. With this stack I am probably pushing things way past safe limits . I need all of the supporting mods bad. Studs, valve springs, cam, injectors, and modded cp3 at least. Then the bottle would be fun that's for sure .

Well getting the right boost for launch has always been a problem for me. The first run was about 20-22psi launch. The second was at 29-30psi and steady going up when I dumped the break. I don't think it can take too many of those . But it sure did feel good.

She came out of the whole real well on the second video. I lost my tranny just over a week ago at the track, smoked first gear in it. I was not building up boost nearly as long as you were, nore near as much boost, make me think that there was already something fishy with it before hand. I should be getting the truck back with the next week or so, hopefully with a new cam as well

I had Michael at HotRodDiesels.com build mine over a year ago. He did a very good job it seems. I have more money in the TC/Transmission/Flexplate than all the other performance mods put together. I did listen to everyone about the transmission. I never did a 4wd launch until I had the transmission built for racing.

What happens when you turn the TST up higher. I've heard rumors the smarty and TST dont play well together on the 3rd gens, but have no first hand experience.

Smarty lower and TST higher is ok. There are many combos and I have only had time to try a few. My problem is that at some point I am draining the rail and then it does not matter what stack combo with the TST it will start popping and sputtering. My TST should be back with lastest upgrade on Friday. With the TST timing control and multiple program options I believe I will be able to find a little better combo. But nothing is gonna help when the rail pressure can't keep up except a modded cp3 or two . Just need those six lucky numbers to show up .
