russelville ohio truck pull last nite

i should of mentioned this to everyone so some had a chance to come and run, but we had a pull last nite in russelville ohio, 18 diesel trucks showed, after watching almost 6 hours of grass growers (antique tractors) we started pulling, the first 100 feet of the track quickly went to crap, you had to baby it out of the hole then go all out after that, the first pull was Randy Doss in the Doss Construction duramax, he ran roughly 295, well they decided to reset the sled, so we ran 2 more fairly mild trucks and they did ok, well Doss came back to repull, he laid down a 400+ run setting the nose in the grass, a few more trucks ran, some didnt make it out of the hole cause they were coming off the clutches too hard, another duramax ran and layed down a 400+ into the grass, a boy in a 24 valve did manage to run a 400+ cause he WASNT side stepping the clutch at WOT like all the other dodge guys did, the only other close truck was a 6.0 stroker with a edge box that layed down about 299, and a old body powerstroke busted the ears off his rearend yoke, well Doss, the red duramax and the dodge came back for the pull off, Doss ran about 250 feet, the dodge about 225 and the duramax about 200. we left the pull at 3 am, most of the trucks couldnt get out of the hole, this was a driver track, not a horsepower track and that showed big time. seen a couple machines there that impressed me, chevy crewcab 90's model 2wd dually that a spectator had with a twin turbo 4BT in it and a friend of mine, craig clark, showed with his newly built 2003 chevy HD with a 12 valve cummins in it, he didnt have it completely finished, as in no radiator and intercooler, it would light great but with no intercooler it the EGT's were getting way too hot coming off the line, so next time around its getting an intercooler and a radiator. kicked one guy out for speeding off the track and threating me, im the flag man so i get a close up view of how everything goes on the track, who breaks and who doesent. there will be alot of other pulls this year at russelville and other places around southeren and central ohio. Logan.

There is Fireball Truck Night over by the PA border. No sled pull though. Its still a lot of fun. Get the chance to rip someones axle off, take your rig through some deep as mud, climbing course, etc.
