raced a power....cough, cough....

So on my way to what they call work and had one of them harley davidson powerchokers coming up behind me. I was in a bit of a hurry anyhow because we had a meeting....that I was late for anyhow. So he blows by the right side and I give her a bit of fuel just to show him I'm interested. We were running about 65, right around 2000 rpm for me, just in the good spot. So powerchicken had his back bumper at the front of my truck and he hammers it. Well it did that rumbling, bububububu thing the powerchokers do and black smoke started to role. I did nothing. He did it again, this time around 70mph and I heard his go(automatic by the way) and saw the smoke pourin' out. I floorboarded mine. Yes, he very very very, gradually pulled away but I really had to pay attention to see that he was actually pulling away. Now, I figure he had a box on it, heavy black smoke...and he was getting after it by the sounds of the exhaust and the trans kick down.

Needless to say I was unimpressed, my very close to stock Cummins keepin up with the powerchicken w/box. I figure if I had the smarty or edge I would have smoked him. I shut her back down and let him go, actually had to stop and get fuel. Was hoping he would pull in so I could act impressed and find out what was on it, but he kept on going.

I raced one Powerstroke. He blew my doors off! I don't know what he had in that thing, except HUGE tires! I know that didn't help him.

I got killed by the only truck I ever attempted to race. It was a Duramax with BullyDog stickers on the dorrs and a could see him on the center console playing with the programmer. This was when I had just the Edge "untapped" and BHAF. I would like to see him again on the road today. Of coarse I would probably blow my Tranny if I pounded it hard now.

It's hard to tell these days when a diesel pulls up what he's got for mods. I've seen some plain jane looking rigs just amaze the crap out of me with how fast they are........kinda like the ol' saying " a wolf in sheeps clothing"!!!

There are days when I miss my powerstroke.......that thing was pure insane fast......wish the Dodge had that much snort!

If you ever see him again just stop and ask him to drop chains, then he can really see what a cummins is all about.

I don't know abuot that KVD, he had a pretty good lift on it, so he would be higher than me.....but I have faith in my Cummins!! Yeah, I wish I had the box. I have been thinkin smarty for sometime now, but I would like the ability to change on the fly that way I ain't in slow poke mode with the smarty and get blown away or always running around puking fuel out the exhaust. Decisions, decisions.......

If he was auto. and anything higher than 4:10 on the gears it probably helped him get you with your 6 speed and 4:10's. My 5 speed with the 4:10 hits 2000 Rpm at 60 mph. When I hit 70 Im clear up at 2600. It just seems like its wound out at 75 and doesnt want anymore after that. Of course mine is doggier because of the SO motor. Where yours is the HO.

Since my truck is down with the buildup my brother was kind enough to let me take his new tow truck, 06 CC DRW F-350 to the track the other night, it has an sct exhaust and an intake, really impressed me, that 6 slow ran a 14.975 and it easily had a 14.8 in it if i ran it hard, he blew by me in his identical ford at a 13 flat, gives me motivation to keep hoping mine up! Alot of people talk crap about the 6.0's but i really like em.
