if it can break, its been broken. at that hp, doing sled pulls i firmly believe you would be doing yourself a favor by doing it right the first time. it wouldnt be cost wise to have to drop the tranny again when an intermediate shaft broke and left you stranded. the peace of mind is worth the cost of the shafts in my mind...

It would be a waste of money if you DIDNT do billet shafts for 700+hp and sled pulling.

700+ HP You can count on brake age, I broke a billet intermediate shaft at about 500HP, If you sled pull competitively you are gonna have to haul it home on a trailer every once in a while.

I have just a triple disk,vb,billet input shaft and flexplate and going on my third season of pulling drove home everytime. I watched a friend destroy a full billet trans on the first pull and he only had a triple dog and bigger turbo and injectors.

I felt if I am going to drop the tranny for upgrades I might as well go the extra mile and give myself some "insurance". HTS built mine full billet shafts w/billet drive drum. I have been told the drive drum is nessessary for going muck beyond stock engine rpms as things tend to fly apart. Get the billet shafts and be done.

billet shafts

so why is it so important to have billet in the trans but the transfer cases all run stock??? also just got a set of 35-12.5-18 toyos to use for this and wondering if 4.10 gears would be a good idea or whether it matters much. id think spinning everything faster with 4.10s would be easyer on everthing??

Cause you ain't gonna bust the transfer case.

With 4.10's your going to be spinning tires slower.

4.10's or 3.73's, 3.55's etc are all fine for pulling. Sometimes you just have to adjust gearing (trans) and tire size to accommodate....

I would think that's a tall tire for 4.10 gears. I have 33x12.50x16 and use 4.88 gears. Some pulling events only allow 33 in. tires max diameter.
