I ran a 24v FASS for a couple months, had 18psi at idle and 16 at WOT. It ran just like it does with my 45psi fass.

So what is the advantage of P-Pumping a 24v?
Is it for performance only?
If I had a 24v and converted it over to a p-pump and did no other performance mods and even left the pump is "stock" form, would the motor be more reliable or economical than normal?

Performance only...

Only advantage would be no VP44 (which I don't think would outweigh the cost of the swap)...

If you tranny is up to the job I know where there is a rebuilt HRVP44 with 1 year warranty for sale........

But if your going to P-pump it you need to get a cam with the lobe ground for the 12 valve mechanical lift pump.

Negative, you don't need a mech lift pump for the p-pump, so cam is not required. I'm still running the stock cam.

Reliability is up. But lets not forget, mechanical things fail like anything else, so it definitely isn't a cure all. You just reduced the failure rate a huge amount. Unless you come across a cheap wrecked 12v, the cost wouldn't be justified from a reliability stand point. I could have had 4 VP's for the price of mine. Thats anywhere from 1000 to 800k miles worth of VP's. But having something you can work on and diagnose without needing a computer is much better, IMO.
