MO pullers

I'm starting to see more and more guys from MO pulling and what not on here and was wondering where some pulls and stuff are. I'm moving my shop out there as I do some stuff and was wondering if you guys new of some good pulls in the fall I might be able to attend. I'm going to be based out of Springfield and have a few friends out there but will be gettin into pulling and drag racing once I move out. Just wondered who all was out that way and if there were many pulls or drags out there.

You can basically pull every weekend from now till fall and yes, there's a ton of trucks hooking in MO and some of us are on here. There's a hook in Eugene, MO and Lincoln, MO this weekend.

To be specific, the MSTPA will have a pull in Lincoln on the 23rd (last year they had a diesel class for us), the MMTTPA will have a pull the 22nd in Eugene and they have a sanctioned diesel class, so that one is for sure. I'll check on the Lincoln one to make sure.

Well I'm glad to hear that. In my area there are very few pulls, let alone scantioned pulls which is why I'm moving out that way, plus I have family. My move in date out there is Aug 10th so after that if one of the trucks is done I will bring it out to play along with a few of my buddies. I'm moving to right outside of Springfield in Republic as I have family there. My buddies have jumped on board so much with it that they said we might build a track outback the shop for fun as I can get my hands on a few used sleds. It will be interesting to see the difference as from here on the east coast. Satburn, maybe we will meet up at some point. I need to figure out what scantions there are and figure out what classes I will build my trucks for though one will be for DHRA rules. Its good to know I'm moving to a place that actually does the things I'm interested in. Now if I could find a woman to do the same however around here in PA that is impossible...

I'm sure we'll meet up I usually try to hit as many as I can, although at this point my head has been sent off to a head doctor in an effort to try and convince it that it's ok to stay down on the block when large amounts of fuel, timing and boost are thrown at it...

Truck pulling and Missouri go hand in hand, there's lot of pulls if you know where to look. As far as the different classes, unfortunately its just recently that we've seen one association finally adopt a standard set of rules. The MMTTPA has adopted DHRA street diesel class rules with additional safety standards such as an air shut off. The rest of the associations for the most part usually have a third party sponsor our class and it can vary from "run what you brung" to something close to DHRA street diesel. There are some other pulls that don't allow weights past the front bumper and other rules. Most of these are dictated by the track and the insurance company insuring the sled. MHTTPA also has a street diesel class developing, they don't have a website, but cover mostly central MO and use a Scriv's Concrete sponsored sled called 'The General'. If you build a DHRA street diesel class truck you stand the best chance of fitting in at basically any pull. But, there are other trucks out there that land in a Super Street or even Modified class pulling as a Street Diesel class. As more associations come on board and adopt a standard set of rules (and enforce them with a thorough tech inspection and penalties for not meeting class standards), things will improve.

Well then I'm definately looking more forward to head out there. My buddies in the Springfield area were excited to have me coming out and I look forward to the atmosphere difference. I come out there all the time and love it. It a totally different type of people out there, plus you guys love your trucks lol. Right now I'm building my street truck with twins and if I remember right twins are only allowed in Pro street. My Pro Mod truck won't be done till at least next year as since I wrecked in in Springfield in Aug, we are trying to figure out what to do about the whole frame thing. That and my funds in building 2 trucks, a shop and many other thing means I can't just dump it all at once in the truck.... Luken, Wes said you were from MO, where in MO? If you guys knwo of any sites or anything I can look at to see spec on what I may need to run or change it would be helpful. I knwo aroudn springfield there are a few pulls like in Billings and Battlefield and stuff so I might hit a couple of them and run with teh ALch burners just to get some hooks out there. If things go well with the shop I'll let you guys know if I get a sled, then yall can come down on the weekends and we can test stuff or just have some fun. Anything to get a hook in I will do lol.

Don't forget that NWMTPA has an 8500 lb diesel class... it is a bit of a drive from Springfield to most of the pulls though. They do have a set of rules for the class that is similar to DHRA Street... except they don't allow ladder bars.

Not at this time... just a plain ol' p-pump with some tweaks, nothing special.

Don't know yet, lots of work still to do just depends on when I get my head back and I want some heat cycles, re-torques, you know the drill.
