A little fun with a 6.0
Haha. I was going to Lowes yesterday to get some stuff for my fuel pressure gauge. I had a 6.0 Ford in front of me that im pretty sure was stock. We were pulling out onto the main 4 lane road, and I see him kick down on it(it was hazing smoke), so I commenced to do the same. I started out probably 6 truck lengths behind him, but we both kept the hammer down, and when I started gettin close to him I switched to the left lane, and had plans of coming on around him , but he ended up getting behind a car right when I was about to get to his bumper, and he had to slow down. I was pulling on him pretty good though. Then we get to the light in town side by side with no one in front of either of us. He looks over at me and my cousin and doesent really look too happy to be honest. I would have waved, but he just looked right back ahead when he saw me look back. I figured Id just take it easy since we were into town, but ol' ford boy in the right lane beside me starts spooling up while we were waiting on the light to change. So I said the heck with this, and poured on the fuel till I got the old hx35 lit to about 10psi. When the light turned green I came off the brake, and layed into it, but I was spinning pretty bad. I noticed he wasnt moving to fast. I dont think he was racing from the light. I guess he just got scared when I started spooling up, and decided to quit while he was ahead. lol I just let out of it when I realized he wasnt racing, but I think I showed him enough for him to realize he didnt want any more. I gave him a good cloud of smoke as I was turning off. Anyways, just had to share my little bit of fun I had yesterday.

Thats cool, I had a chance last week to run a 6.0 too. We both had about 19ft. boats on our trucks, and when we got to the light I knew we both had the same thing on our minds. So I waited to see if he would jump and he did, so I took off in second gear(first is a waste of time), but he got ahead just a car length before I caught third, and then I went passed him like he was standing still. Then I figured I slow down and let him catch up at the next light to see if he had anything to say, but he timed the light so he wouldn't come up beside my truck. Think I scared him off, but I don't think the 6.0s pull as hard with a load on them, because I pulled away to easy.My boat may have been a little heavier too, it's an inboard, he had an outboard hanging on the back.
