Good point...it's not the power in the engine that's lacking...it's the power between the ears. Must've stripped those gears up there

That's money well spent. 3rd gen. smartys are the best bang for the buck.

That sounds like something that happened to me on the way home from schieds weekend thing. I was headed north on 57 in illinios and had to slow down cause a big rig pulled into the left lane to pass a minivan. Well up my *** comes this new charger. and I mean up my *** . Well I wait till the truck moves over and left enough room for the charger to go around me. In the prosses turning up my tst, and as soon as he went so did I. Well needless to say he couldnt see didly. Well I played with him for awhile, And he just kept getting ****** he couldnt pass me, so at 110 I decided I didnt want to cruise at that speed I pulled over to the right lane and let him go. Well behind him was a corvette and a Ford psd pulling a flat bed trailer. Empty of course But still pulling a trailer . Well the guy in the ford looks over cracking up and gave the thumbs up. Oh I think that was one hell of a convoy.

I've seen some on the highway coming home, dmins/powerchokes and try to get them to play, but they don't. I know, the mostly bone stock truck of mine has no chance against a pc or dc, but they never bite. Maybe they see my gauge pod and have felt the RATH of a CUMMINS before!! Then the little gassers that I get to play with, if I get beat by a honda civic, well I blame it on my 7000# or slightly lighter truck. Did have one of those cobalt ss's behind me the other day acting like he had something, it was quick cause I accelerated and got away and he launched and was right on me. Wish I had the smarty so I could defog the road for him!!

Hey, I never said the guy was intelligent did I. I knew I wouldn't have a problem on the top end.

People don't like playing with me after I make them a smoke show. I am pretty sure it would take a fast vehicle to beat me from a rolling start. Once I get the HTB2 lit stuff happens.

WUnderwood, that's pretty good. I gotta remember that one. Competitive acceleration.
To bad we don't live closer together, I'd like to show you what a dmax can do, prefer to do my racing on the track however.

Dude I'm not tryin to be brand prejudiced or anything for one post but isn't that A LOT of modifications for 550-600 hp on the duramax? Sounds like you got a boatload of money in that thing.

That's kinda what I was thinking. He's got at least 100 hp more than mine though. Of course, I have yet to do near what he has, especially in terms of money. I gotta say though, the duramaxes are sure starting to turn some good numbers, and they seem to be getting them to hold together better and better. In durability they're still no cummins, but they are improving. At least you can expect a duramax to make it pas 50k without needing a replacement engine!
