Intereset in a N.E./NY Dyno Day?
Alright fella's, I've been looking at a few places in NY that offer Chassis Dyno's, and most of them look very reasonable for dyno runs. Looking for enough guys in the North East to get together for a Meet and Greet/Dyno Day. Without getting a group rate we're looking at about $80 for 3 runs with setup. That is the cheapest I have found so far.
To give everyone an idea, this would be in Rochester, NY which is fairly central in NY. I know theres a lot of guys who are curious as to what kind of numbers their truck can put down, so here's your chance. I hope their will be a few guys there who can help tune the trucks as well, I can lend a hand with the 12V guys, I'm no Guru, but I'm able.
Post here to give me an idea of how many guys want to join us. This will probably be in the first part of next year, March or later so these guys have a chance to prepare for us.

Thats my only problem so far...Hopefully this gets pushed back again...othewise I know a lot of guys won't be able to go to the Piers Dyno Day either next year. This is really going to hurt local economies.

Well I talked to the guys here at PJ's speedshop in Buffalo, they seem to be the only ones who can, and are willing to accommodate a bunch of big Diesel rigs, nobody else will take a group that I can find. I'm waiting to hear from a guy or two in Rochester, so its still possible for out there. Any more interest?
This looks like a ton of fun guys, if you don't believe me look at Unruly's videos, I just wish my 12V's put down power like John P's!!!

Good to see you Xtoyz...What shops do you have out there that are willing to work with a bunch of oil burners? Any idea on cost, setups (trying to stay away from DynaPack Dyno's), and of course...extra ventilation ?
PJ's here in the B-lo had the WNY PSD Club in a few months back, and said they were amazed at what the diesel's could put down. I know there;s guys around who can smoke the 508HP the best PSD put down...With a set of injectors and a bigger turbo I could do it, but $$$ is tight.
Lemme know what you come up with, I'm thinking April/May would be the best time for it, that way it'll be warm enough to work outside on the rigs. Let me know what you think.

I'll see what I can track down tomorrow at work. After all, I can always use a good excuse to avoid work.
Have you talked to mike from Innovative? He used to be on transit, but I think he moved. Now that I think about it though, I think he has a dynapack.

There is a place around here called New Era Perf. Probably the bigger of the domestic perf. dealers in my area. Has a huge parking lot, dyno can handle 1200 ft/lb, but only has 2wd capabilities. Shouldn't be an issue, as I can't see anyone dynoing in 4wd anyways. The last dyno day he did this past October was 50 bucks a person, 3 runs, highest HP gets their money back.
I used to know the guy personally, so I'll see what he has to say. His place is actually only about a mile or two from my house (the shop).
His dyno is a dynojet 224 by the way.

Count Me In. Love to try a dyno on my truck. Both Rochester and Buffalo are doable being from Jamestown. I might be able to spark interest in a couple guys that I work with as well.

Alright, Xtoyz, that sounds awesome. Let me know what your connection says, its about half the price that PJ's wants. I'd like to do it in Roch-cha-cha since its more centralized, but if it doesn't work out at least we have a backup.
As many guys as we can get is what I say! The more we got there the more we can start making a decently active local chapter, even if its once a year its better than we have now.
Look at the NC chapter with their Dyno day, or Piers Dyno Day, those are huge events, and they got their start the same way we a re doing this. Who knows, maybe this shop we end up doing it at will become a diesel perf. shop and invite us back next year. At least it gets our foot in the door right?!?
Scott, I'm in Clarence, but have family down by you in Salamanca, I get down there fairly often, esp. this time of year to go boarding. If you see a 97 Black CC with stacks and a Ranchhand Bumper on it give a honk. I get it back tomorrow, and I'll have pics up here someday soon.
