Bumper to bumper truck hooking is big in my area, Weight and traction are key. Hitch height is imprtant. Get your tires hot bfore you hook. I know people with concreat spare tires and tractor weights laid acrosss the toolbox. Add as much weight as you can. Dont break traction.

A friend of mine is a true die hard ford guy, which he has the 2004 crew cab regular box with the 6.0L 4x4 with 4.10 gearing and mickey thompson baja claws, mine is the 04 crew cab 4x4 5.9L ,3:73 ratio with the bfg all terrains and we both had a pull off this weekend with a wet road, i cant tell you how much differance between the hitch heigts there was but we did 3 tries 4 hi, 4low and 2wd,
First in 4 hi i made the mistake of taking my foot off the break and just trying to control it with the gas and i broke loose and he started draging me so i let off, 4 low i keept working the gas and the break and i started dragain him rite away and then he started spinning and i kept going. two wheel drive i started pulling him for about 2 feet with him spinning and then i started wo we both went for the smoke show with neither of us moving.
I would sudgest working the break and the gas at the same time and for sure the wieght like they sudgested, i went empty and so did he according to the door stickers he has 2000 pounds on me which i dont get and well i went to the dump and the scale showed my truck weighing is an 3490kg with differes from what the door rating says. also tires are different to take into concideration. Hope the helps.
