I got called out by a 6.0 Powerstroke today...

I was at work today and I got called out by a 6.0 Powerstroke guy. He started by revving at me in the parking lot, then when we got into the shop he spent the next 15 minutes ranting about how his new 4" exhaust was giving him so much added power. Then how he wants to hook trucks next week when he gets his Edge w/ Attitude. I remarked to his boosting with mild but witty come backs like : I really dont want hook trucks since it might discourage you so much you'll have to sell your truck and my old dirty dodge might catch you with your pants around your knees. I enjoy letting the truck do the talking and then I'd like to rub it in at work after.

So, to wrap this thing up, IF I were to do this what tactics should I implement to give myself a good chance at winning. We both have 4WD, long bed, ext cab, 3/4 ton trucks. He's pretty green as far as diesel knowledge goes. Alot of my buddies pull sleds every week but not many hook truck to truck, and I know it's a different concept all together. I've had some people say stand on the brakes till he spins then slowly put the power on. I've heard run lots of weight in the bed of the truck.

Thoughts?

Measure his hitch height and make sure yours is higher. This is for weight transfer. Make sure yours weighs more too.

Just tell him it proves nothing.

Strap 10k behind both of ya and drag race.

The only thing tug-o-wars prove is who has more weight or more traction. You could get pulled around by a Prius if it had more traction than you.

a full tank of fuel is a hidden reserve of weight, quick look in the bed of his truck for heavy items....... as yours is empty.

All this does is break parts and prove who has the most traction.... pretty silly...

Like it has been said, hook 10K up and go.

None of the info above is really helping besides the hitch heighth, and full tank of fuel post so i'll chime in, build some boost in 4 low and when its time to go you will yank him. Key is to get momentum, don't try to hold the brakes cause if he has enough traction he will still pull you across the parking lot makin you look silly. Maybe air your tires down a little. I have hooked to 2 ford psds and have not lost yet.

Air your tires down, but not so much that he notices. If things don't go well send him my way..

Just tell him you have too many teeth in your head to enjoy hooking bumpers. Hook to a sled or drag race.

Dont worry the Ford will most likely break down and be in the shop for repairs in the next couple of day. He wont be able to pull anything

Put some 100lbs john deere weights in the cab. DO NOT give your truck lots of throttle or the tires will spin!! If you can get his tires to spin you'll drag him
