Got pulled by a Powerstroke 7.3 - is my truck that weak?

His is a 2000 F-250, 7.3 4x4 short bed, ext. cab. stock

Mine is in my sig...

I started in 1st, and all 4 tires spun as he pulle dme, then I started in 2nd, and the same thing happened...

Shouldn't I have least put up a fight?

So that means his truck is stronger?

It only means that he could put more tractive force to the ground than you could. Assuming you were hitched at about the same level:

1. If you were pulling on pavement, then spinning tires are your enemy. It's the same principle as braking - a rolling tire has more traction than a sliding tire. If his truck was an automatic (you didn't say) and he didn't spin the tires, then he could put more tractive force to the pavement than you could with spinning tires.

2. If you were pulling on dirt and both of you spun your tires, his tread pattern might have been more aggressive than yours.

Either way, it's more about tractive force than horsepower.

Sorry, he has an auto and it was on wet pavement...

Why's a stick suck for pulling?

I have brand new BFG AT's and he has some Trail Mark...

Because you either have to slip the clutch or spin the tires unless you can get him moving your way immediately. The automatic can build torque multiplication through the torque converter without spinning its tires because of the fluid coupling effect - even if it's sitting stationary.

These pull off are about 2 things: Traction and weight...and if he has more of EITHER, you lose.

Settle your claims with the sled. As they say "when the hook drops the cattle dung stops!"

I agree with the others. either race him at a track or with weight behind you.

stock against stock GEARING IS EVERY THING. you have a 355 what if he has a 410 you have no chance, most of those trucks came with 410 rear.

I like the idea of fat girls in my bed. 7.3 is really laggy ,if you got the drop on him you stared spin your tires first then he had you. brake till you hear his tires spining then ease the clutch out and drag him to the next county. But I agree with everybody else tell him to hook up to a sled . A powerjoke will live up to it's name,if something doesn't braek first
