Finally got the goat off road...
well i was looking at houses today and there was one way off the road, about 100 yards or so. it has been raining everyday for almost a month also i might add. well i didnt want to get all muddy walking up the drive not to mention it had a rather steep angle to it, so i turned off the road to go up it. well about half way up i put it in 4H and had very little problems. once up top, i realized how bad it was up there and i knew better than to attempt it so i made the decision to back down the drive since there wasnt enough room to turn around. heres where it got interesting...
almost to the road we started sliding to the drivers side where there is a steep drop off, so i attempted to correct and then it got messy. i was able build some momentum but when i saw the path i was headed, i had to shut her down in fear of ramming the culvert in the ditch. well once i got it lined out enough i got on it and it just dug in...didnt move an inch. i got out found some ply wood and put it under the rear tire and mashed the motor. somehow i was able to get the rear end on the pavement but the front was not looking to good. well after doing a little foward/reverse several times and getting some speed, i was able to make it back on the road in one piece. overall im pretty impressed with how well the truck did.
just wanted to share my exciting evening. and thanks to the guy in the white suburban that just drove by not offering to help..i wouldnt have taken it though, just rude not to offer! i might try to snap some pics of the carnage tomorrow. it really got messy

after I installed my new swampers about a 2 years ago I took the truck out and dropped it off in a little ditch where there was already some tracks (which little did I know at the time were made by a set of 40"ers). I hit it with good speed in 4hi and it just kept digging till I was almost to the end. And then I got out to find that ALMOST wasnt far enough. I ended up with both pumpkins high centered on the mound. It took 2 trucks tied end to end to get me out. 1 grader and 2 dozers just passed right by. They just smiled and one of them said "You better get that thang outta ther b'fore a county cop comes writes you a ticket". Thanks bud till you said that I had plans on making this my trucks final resting place.

had an experience almost like that when i had my 95 V10 truck, we was out one night, about late february, it was a long winter that year, still kinda cold and had ice in some spots, very rainy and wet, i tried to make a run up this trail i had never been on, new place to play, so i proceeded to drive up it, it was a logging trail, very steep and slippery, i get about 1/4 mile up into the woods and i was crawling, 15 foot cliff on one side into trees, the other was a 3 foot dirt bank, well i hit a patch if ice with my front and rear tires and it got real hairy, real quick, i almost went over the bank cause i slid sideways, so now guess what, i get to back down the whole trail, in the dark with pouring rain, almost fell off the ledge 2 or 3 times, it was bad. i also mashed my exhaust tip after i sky wheelied it up this terrace in this field, it was cool until i came back down, dang did that hurt the back.
