A few ???'s on drag racing a 2wd
Lemme know what ya think guys.Mods are in my sig.Truck is an 00 2wd Quad Cab w/5 spd and 3.55's. I do have some prior drag racing experience
What im wondering is:
1)what suspenion mods?
2)what size slicks? And what psi do you run them at?
3)2500 rpm launchs on slicks ok?
Id be happy with 14's with my stock turbo for now....Then again, wouldnt we all

ok i drag race alot so ill give some tips ive learned
as for suspension lower the rear so it sits lower than the front good weight transfer
as for slicks i cant answer that im still runnin duals
i launch in 3rd gear at about 2300 traction is always a problem
and you have to power shift to keep boost up never let out i usually shortshift 3rd to get into 4th as fast as possible
thats just how i do it i may not be what u wanna know but just trying to help

Do the turbo upgrade, You will be glad. I went from 14.5 sec to 13.9 after changing the turbo. My problem now is getting good traction. I'm getting good MPH (103) but ETs are low because of too much spin at the lights. I will be mounting steet slicks on my stock rims. This will lower the rear and hopefully the tires will stick a little better. I want some spin so as not to put too much raw torque to the drive train.
Good luck,
Gene
