I understand the rules, my problem is how they inforce them. There are a couple of "workstock" truck here in wisconsin that not exactly legal but allowed to pull anyway. I have said it before and will say it again beating up on farmers with $10k into a truck with a $60k truck isnt what the class is suppose to be. just my $.02 Thanks, Jr

I guess they need a poor farmer class then.

Funny thing is around here every farmer I know has alot more money than I do!
Maybe I'm in the wrong profession

I agree, id like to see a 2.4 rule in the work stock class. Makes for a lil better competion, and i dont think the duramaxs would be totally done for.

2.4 , 2.5 Just allow any stock turbo truck to to run also. That way the average dude can have a class to pull his right of the street truck in. That is the whole Idea of Work Stock. Some things I have noticed. How come so few 3rd gens show up in the Work Stock class. Derrick Drydens truck freacken' rocks. Matt Bucchianeri's 04 won Reedsville. His truck is awesome too. Runs great. Real simple. He runs a TST and MP8. SB dual disk. That is about it. Simple and runs. It does not seem like you guys cant hang to me. You just need to show up!
Next question. How come some has not put a HX35 on a older p-pump CTD. Can this not be done? Set it to run about 4000 It should rock and be fairly cheap to do.

My turbo is not as big as you think. I think the real reason my truck pulls so well is a wide powerband. I make over 400HP for 2000 rpm. Not to shabby!

Finally a thread here where you guys admit the Duramax is better I always knew the day would come

The Duramax is limited in the amount of fuel the DHRA will allow in the Work Stock class, so why not limit the turbo to 100% stock
On the 12V you can put pretty much any pump that looks stock, yet they don't allow the Duramax two CP3's (Which by the way, is not a pump!) that would allow more fuel.

I really feel for you guys

The older p-pump came with a hx35. You are only talking a 54 or 56 mm wheel.

Also, the CR's don't have the HX35...and the 04.5-up have a bigger compressor wheel than the 03-04 trucks! The 03-04 trucks have the HY35 (9cm housing), and the 04.5-up have the same charger with a bigger intake wheel!

At least I think that's what I remember!

Thanks good Info. Anybody know how hard it would be to put one on a 12v?

My truck uses all stock, original engine parts. Turbo, Pump, injectors, are completly stock. I have never removed them from the engine or altered them in any way. I have added a lift pump, Dual disk clutch, and a big nasty tune that I street drive it with every day. I could have done some rule bending but saw no need. As I ran just dandy with it 100% legit.

I wouldn't want to...that exhaust housing is RESTRICTIVE!!! 12v heads don't flow like the newer trucks, so that restriction is even worse!

Unless you spend all you're time below 2500 RPM and 35psi, the newer chargers aren't an improvment over the stock HX35. Not too mention the newer ones have an electronic wastegate "control" IIRC...you might have to figure out a way around it! I'm not real sure on the wastegate part, I've never messed with a charger on an 04.5-up! I've changed them on every other series of truck but the 600/610's!

The Dmax is a good motor and I like them just fine, but they clearly have an advantage over the cummins as far as the size of the stock turbo goes. With a good lift pump the dmaxes can get PLENTY of fuel out of just the stock pump. Certainly more than enough to reach the limits of the stock turbo.
