doesnt mean anything in regards to ET, tbe cummins having a better R/T just means it looks farther out but in the end he won by about 1 second. the SRT-10 could have sat at the line for another minute and still ran a 14.5

also, i dont wanna be the butthead here, 13.5 is fast for a cummins, i wish i could run 13.5, but those 4 door automatic SRT-10's are slow for 500HP, 14.2-14.5 is about average for a stock 4 door model

reaction time means everything in heads-up racing. If you are sitting there after the light is green, your ET will certainly show that...

Your ET will not show the effect of reaction time....

Your ET has nothing to do with reaction time.....the clock doesn't start until the vehicle moves! The winner of a heads up race is whoever crosses the finish line first - not who had the quickest ET. If you had a worse reaction time than you opponent in a heads up race, it is perfectly possible for you to lose with a QUICKER ET. As getblown5.9 said, he could have been sitting on the start line for one minute and would have absolutely no effect on the ET.

I'm surprised how slow the RT-10 was!

Here in Denver I see stock R/T 10 regular cab 6 spds run 14.55 @ 95. There is a guy with a supercharged one that runs 12.85.

yeah thoes SRT-10 are worthless especially the quad cab auto's. They weight 5,500 and have no traction.

Hennesy or another Viper tuner made a 800rwhp twin turbo srt-10 and it still only ran 13's.

They said the thing hauled a$$ in the top end when traction was avaiable.

They either need slicks or a 4X4 conversion

You give me a Hennesy reg cab auto with 4x4, and I'm sold.

I have a friend who road course races his SRT-10 and does extremely well with it.

I have gone head to head with two SRT's; both were in the high 14's and 95-98 mph. That's about right for stock truck.

I can't imagine why an srt-10 would trap less than 100 mph. I've driven a std cab 6 spd srt-10 once. I had never even sat in one before, and I popped off a 13.8-something at 108.something mph. I did not speed shift it either, and it was stock down to the tires. The owner had gotten 13.20-something out of it on his best passes. It's not THAT bad launching one-you just have to drive it instead of simply flooring it and wondering why it's not going anywhere. Some sense of how close you are to the limit of traction is invaluable in such a situation. I can't imagine an auto (properly driven) being so much slower as to be unable to break 100 mph, unless something was wrong with it.
