I'd call Frank Lupo of Pro-formance transmissions and Dynamic Converters. That guy is one of the top Mopar tranny shops in the country.
His 9.5" converter is killer, but probably too much for a CTD dragster unless you are running some pretty tall gears and/or tall tires.

HOHN, weres he out of and i'll give him a call im in northern texas. I'll be running a 3.00 gear in this 9" ford with a 33 or 35x17 slick. Im really not sure what convertor im goning to want as this is my first race only diesel. I would think a really tight conv. would be the ticket but surely was opinions and advise. In your opinion is the 727 up to the job, i will have it built right but it sure looks like a less expensive route that the adaptor plates and all required parts and a built glide?? I want to do it right once and just have to service it every winter, if posable as i do now with my other weekend drag car. Thanks

You'll probably want a 9.5 or 10" converter, depending on how the car is set up. If you're not spinning the RPM much, you can drop down to 11 or even 12" converter.

Thanks for the link HOHN, ill be running a P-pump motor with 4k spring and 60# V.Springs. Im going to start with a large singer charger for now maybe the A5000, and a wild plate with some rather large injectors and see where this puts me to my goal, i can tune from there or later add my HX35 to the mix. Engine is no trouble i feel very confedent of making all the power i need, im just lost on the tranny end of this whole deal. I ran modifided cummins in years past but only with manual trannys, i am now really ready to do it for real and go fast and concistant. Any other tranny advise is appreciated!! Thanks Ryan
