Chris, there is no wastegate on a A5k. Whatever you fuel it to, it spins. That is the one downfall to it. With stock injectors you should only be able to get it to about 55 lbs though and you should be fine with stock bolts. Tim

A friend of mine runs his Aurora 5000 @ about 60psi down the track pulling the sled and still is on his stock gasket and stock bolts. He has had the Aurora on for about 15 hooks or so (all of last year) (600+hp too).
So you think i would be in safe mode since i wont be no truck pulling or anything?

Those common rail head gaskets are alot tuffer then what come on the 12&24valve engines, and even factory stock engines make 30+psi on CR, so the new gaskets are made to hold alot more.

Fuel....

Drive pressure stays down because of the large 76mm turbine wheel. Wastegates and turbine housings arent everything to the drive pressure equation.

so the more fuel you put to it the faster it comes on and the more boost you acheive ?

I ran 100k plus with an A5k on stock head bolts...no problemo. 55-58 psi max boost...with drive pressure never exceeding my boost.

If you wanted to be for sure about it you could get a external wastegate and do a lil plumbing in to your down pipe to get it exactly where you want it.

Unless your way over boosting the Aurora, like say 65psi+ then I would not worry about gating the excess because you open yourself up to snuffing the charger out in certain instances. I would rather have a hair too much drive/back pressure to keep the turbo lit then risk snuffing the charger out.
Once you get to pulling some you'll know what I mean.

Some tracks will load and unload your truck depending on your combination and can snuff a turbo in a millisecond.
