Alaska Drag Racing, Saturday, July 22nd
Our second "Truck Performance Night" at the Alaska Raceway Park drag strip in Palmer is this Saturday, July 22nd. There is only one more after this one folks, which will be during mid August, and it always gets rained out. The race is sponsored by Northern Diesel Performance and they usually give away free stuff to those that attend. The gates open at 2:00pm, T&T/Dial-In/Grudge Races starts at 3:00pm till about 6:00pm, and the bracket racing for TROPHIES and BRAGGING RIGHTS start about 6:30pm. There are usually a bunch of Hemi trucks, Lightenings and Chevy SS's out there, so if you have any friends with one of those and thinks their fast, definatley bring them along. Just bring your 4-wheeler or snowmachine helmet and a pair of long pants/shirt to slip on when you run.
If anyone wants to go, but has never been out to the track before and not sure how to get there, I'd love to meet you guys/gals in the Fred Meyer parking lot in Eagle River, or wherever, and convoy out to the track together. If your in Anchorage (I am), we can do the same here in town somewhere and just make a pit stop in ER to pick those folks up. A convoy of about 50 smoke'n diesels going up the Glen would be sweet. Looks like the weather is going to be perfect for us. Should be an awesome day at the track (for a change).

Participation was better this time, but still not as good as I had hoped. No new land speed records were set. I broke out on my very first competition run. At least I had several hours to test-n-tune and try different things. We had a great time!
