Wink 1/8th mile

Its lots harder than it looks I tell ya that. My best so far in my Pro Street Chevy truck with the 12v cummins is a 6.18 at 110mph. You can read about my build from scratch in the conversion section, i built it last winter and raced it all this last year, its been no easy road and nearly gave up on it due to tranny and rear end parts failures every trip out to the track for a long while. You cant ever really say you have all the bugs out of a race car or truck but its going rounds these days with lots less issues thanks to a few people that believed in what I was doing and wanted to help some, HTT has Great chargers and has stood behind them for me, Art Carr has built me some nearly bomb proof convertors and Trans Pro in Terrell has stood behind thier TH400 and put all the best of parts in it that Art Carr offers, Its a combo thats strong but it limits me to doing my best work on the short track being that it only has a 1:1 final gearing, ive thought of the 4L80E but it has to many downfalls to it and id have to start over in the convertor dept. and not ready to go there. Id love to dip in the 5's with the truck but its going to be tuff, at these times .18 is a lot further than one would think. It will go 60's/70's on the motor and pretty easy on parts that way. All I can say is build something and get out there and do it, yes it will fight ya and yes its going to break, just build to what your budget will allow and have fun with it.

Stuckeys ran a 5.93 in 1/8 last year along with a 5.99 - fastest to record I know with a legal (NHRA/others) diesel truck! That's a two wheel drive, Garmon ran a 6.49 last weekend with no NOS at the Rock in NC!

Ryan, thanks for the post, sounds like its not an easy road there.
We have been building the 06 full size truck, goal was 11s in the 1/4, it done that, but the motors keep melting down, actually 3 motors melted in a half year... cant figure out whats wrong. its got injector knock/rattle and missing while cold. once the mp8 turned up it will only last for 3 runs.

A friend ran his truck at the track too, he has a half ton short bed 4x4 cummins, member here: ronnyenns,
he runs mid 7.6 i believe.
And yeah i believe its harder than i thought... he has broken quiete some parts as is..
So one could say you need a truck thats lifting the front tires off the ground to run 6s?

Thanks for the reply man. I have had so much fun with this truck and by overall goal if you read my build on this truck was to someday try and run a 6.99. Now thats moved on after some time to push for that majic 5.99, may happen and it may not, but i'll have a blast trying either way. And no to your last question, this truck didnt use to pull the wheels, that started to happen at maybe around the 6.50 or so range, the setup in the rear has to be spot on to work this well with that much weight up front. Its pullled them as high as 18" on by few fastest passes, one more thing I sure never would have thought would happen with this build.

6.99 usually equate to 10.90s.
6.50 = 10.10

Mutiply your 1/8 mile et by 1.55-1.57; usually gets it close.

For 1/4 mph I can usually mutiply my 1/8 mph by 1.25-1.27.

Ive not seen that math but its prob. pretty close to right, last time out at the 1/4 I lifted at ~ 900' and rolled through at 10.46 at 111, the 1/8th on that pass was a 6.49 i believe. My hats off to the guys that do it in the full sized much heavier trucks, it takes lots of ump to git it done.
I get out of it due to good horse since telling me to, when the pyro's already peg'ed at 2k by 300' what is it by the 1320'? To hot for me, when the neddle is pointing str8 down im guessing its around 2400* and that happens around the 1/8th mile mark, its hard to hang on the next 1/8th ive been scared it would melt down, I will just have to detune it and pull lots of top end fuel to get through i suppose, i never intended on taking it down the 1/4 when i built it though. But the TS race and several otheres that I plan to run this year are 1/4 so........i'll do what I can, also limited by the 3 spd tranny and no O.D., most everyone else can stayed geared deep and just hit O.D. to get through the second half, I have to put a really tall gear in place to do so.Ryan
