Mike, My 2-3 shift (locked up) is very smooth. Only use it at WOT.
But yeah... OD switch is a different animal!

Rowland, That's good to know. I'll give it a try this spring.

I would like to know more about the OD switch? How does it work? Does it apply voltage?

My DTT installer did the OD switch and I wasn't there at the time to see how it was done. I've not even taken the time to follow the wires and see where it is wired in at.

once upon a time when my trans was all jacked up, I had no second gear and no overdrive. I looked at the schematic in the trusty chiltons book and wired up a temporary switch to the OD solenoid wire which is in the same harness as the lockup switch wire. I wired it to see if my solenoid was bad, or if it was wiring or something else. in fact I might just hook it up again for this reason.
for those of you that want to hook it up, its the only brown wire in the harness, and if you send a ground to it, it will go into OD. this is on a 95 btw.

On my '98, both the OD & TC solenoids are switched to ground, so it was a simple matter to wire a 3-position switch to manually control them.
