438hp/996tq Dyno runs
#18
These are a custom injector a buddy of mine had done for me. The box said 100+hp.
1qckdodge, my buddy AggieJustin dynoed 434/1050 with DD2/Smarty/TST and his stock turbo. He did say that it gets hot and you can look at his graph and tell that his truck needs air bad.

Here are the graphs from my runs...
Graph #1
Graph #2
Both graphs map against speed, the test range was 40mph to 83mph in 5th gear (direct).
I'm putting down roughly the same power on TST level 4 as I am on the higher levels. Doesn't do much other than just get hotter. Definitely in need of more air.

If I can get those #s on my stock turbo I will be happy, Blue with the bigger turbo can you use the higher levels on the box with no problem? and how hard does the power hit when she spools up?

When I had the comp and dynoed 398/820, I could turn the comp all the way up and still only hit 1250-1300* no matter how hard I pushed it. I also was able to keep the turbo gated down to about 42psi. As soon as I switched to the TST my egt's went up 200* and I can't get the boost below 48psi no matter what I do. She'll hit 1500* but it takes until about 70 or 80mph to do it and trust me, as hard and fast as this thing hits, 70 or 80 is plenty to take on most anyone from a stand still. From a 70mph roll this truck feels like an absolute rocket. You punch it and as soon as the tranny downshifts the turbo slams to 48psi and by the time you pass the car in front of you your flirting with triple digit speeds. I can't believe how hard and fast yet smooth the power of this thing is. I absolutely love it.

Blue, what gears are you running? I wouldn't go to low of a stall. I had a BD low stall converter and hated it. I have a TCS 2000 rpm stall converter. Its tight and hooks-up nice and solid. When you get intothe throttle, you stall higher but still feels like a low stall. This helps your turbo spool-up as you have more mass flow to spool the turbos, so you can run a larger turbo and reduces smoke levels as well.

I'm running 3.54 gears and 35" tires. I'm looking for something around 1700-1800rpm. Mine stocker flashes to about 1900 right now and I hate it. Good thing though is that like you said, I can get the turbo spooled up quick and cut back on the smoke.
