438hp/996tq Dyno runs

Well I finally got on the dyno again. I did it on a mustang dyno this time but the numbers were right where I expected them to be. I did 5 different runs. My baseline was with the TST/injectors only with the A/C turned off (run number 1 on both graphs). At the top of the graph you can see what combo I tried on each one and I even labeled the runs. We didn't put a load on the mustang since we wanted to simulate a dynojet with no load. All in all I was very impressed. My hats off to Jim and his crew at Performance Diesel. Great group of guys and they really let us have some fun on the dyno instead of only allowing 3 runs. My tranny is still holding up. I let my buddy rjohnson drive it and he told me that it feels great to him and after looking at the numbers I think it's holding alright. Well yall have fun and let me know what ya think.

Yeah and I was glad to see that cause a buddy of mine dynoed on it and it said he gained like 30hp from an intake and exhaust and when he redynoed on a dynojet he lost those 30hp so I was a little skeptical but from what I've read and seen, my numbers are right on cue. I just can't wait to build the trans and see what happens when I have a converter that stalls at 1600 instead of 2000.

I was looking over my graphs from last time and with the comp on 5x5 and the injectors, no smarty, I did 398hp/820tq. That was with the AC on. With the TST/Injectors/no smarty/AC on, I did 396hp/924tq. At 2000rpm with the TST I was making over 670tq, at 2000rpm with the comp I was making between 575-600tq. The air temperature was about the same on both days (very hot and humid). I knew the TST was a monster but I didn't realize that it was that big of one.

My first observation from looking at your graphs is how well the smarty extends the power of the tst in the upper rpms. I also was suprised how quickly the tst made power by itself, especially when compared to the smarty. So why sw5?

BTW welcome to the 400 club

I did 5 because that's the setting that I run around on. I don't run around on 7 or 9 because it's to violent and to rough on the tranny and I don't like dynoing with combinations that I don't run on the street.

Rick, rjohnson did 624/1380. It was incredible. I've never seen a tach go from 2000rpm to 3800rpm (yes, 3800) that fast in my life. Oh, and I'm far from my goals with this truck. I've just reached another rung on the ladder of my goals.

Tyler it was a 40hp gain that the Mustang said mine made. The dynojet brought me back to reality. Jim's shop said mine made 320/771 stock with AFE 2 and exhaust. A few days later with no changes, Lewisville HPP Racing dynojet said 280/548........essentially the same as July 05 with stock air box/muff.

I can't explain the reason for the differences, but it made me not trust the Mustang.

Congrats on your numbers all the same though!! Good job!

The tighter converter should really help. It will load the engine sooner and bring in boost earlier-- which will have Smarty/TST fueling harder and earlier-- both good things!
