2wd diesel pulling

I'll take a crack... How about frame stress. Hanging a diesel engine in the air is taxing on the frame as it is, much less having it bounce up and down a bit. It'd take a lot more stripping of the truck, and beefing of the frame to handle the stress of the diesel.
Now, that being said... I have no idea on 2wd vs. 4wd, I haven't seen a 2wd pull that was actually set up for it. I'd love to see a Cummins powered Ram suspended in the air. But if you build a 2wd, I'll pert' near guarantee it'll be a dedicated puller!

bbc doesnt weight no where near what a diesel does though...as for pulling with 2wd, it SUCKS. i know im not "set up" for it but my first pull i went like20-30 feet while the truck behind me pulled 300 in like sec.s! It was a 4wd dually. And like stated before 2wd gasser do it with ez due to the fact of huge tractor tires and high rpm from the start that our diesels cant do cause the torque!

a 2wd pulling truck will outpull a 4wd everytime.[/QUOTE]
id say no. the only reason is a 2wd pulling truck is allowed way more hitch height than 4wd trucks-if they were to run the same hitch height my money would be on the 4wd. also 2wds usually run blown engines and 4wd trucks dont( at least for the gasers) tractors run only 20" hitches, our trucks are 26" and mods(2wd trucks) must be around 30" but I know its more than 4wds. not to mention tire sizes

It all comes down to the driver, the track and the ability to get the power to the ground. I saw a 2WD CR Cummins whip a$$ and take names in the 7200 pound class two years ago in Hillsboro, OH. He didn't win, bu he did place in the top 5.
