1st Time Sled Pulling! Video.
Well I hooked to a sled for my first time on Saturday and it was a lot more fun than I expected. Me and a buddy of mine (dodge250) decided to make the 2 hour drive to Newman and pull in the 8000lb Street Diesel class. We were actually the only 2 that showed up for our class and needless to say I came in 1st with a pull of 243ft, beating dodge250's 182ft. I was pretty impressed with my truck and so were a lot of the gas pullers there. After the pull was over they let each of us pull again for fun, so on my second pull I was able to run with the water/meth.

pouring, what are the suspension blocks like, just a solid block to prevent the springs from compressing?
i was thinking the rubber spacers of the timbren mount would help with pullin as well

Corey, its kind of hard to believe that that truck also runs 13.66 in the quarter
I noticed that you did change your rims and tires to pull though. Wonder what you'd run at the track with those on?

rj73.. were you pulling from the the Chrome bumper???
Blocks.. some just remove the rubber bump stop.. and bolt in a metal stop.. some rule say you must have 1in of travel.. other no rules... Most jack up the truck just a little and install the blocks.. I've seen some out of 2x4 tubing that looked good... (2x4 tubing standing with the opening on the top and bottom.. then a plate added to the top and bottom.. this was on a chevy..) I've seen them out of pipe.. worked.. just didn't look so good..
Keeps you from losing hitch height.. and usually keeps you from bouncing too much..
Nice pull guys..

Well I guess I'm hooked! I entered my 2nd pull on Monday night at Gustine High School, where there was a lot better turnout than Saturday. There were over 100 hooks on 2 different sleds that night and there were 11 trucks in the Street Modified Diesel class. I placed 5th with a pull of 200 feet. Thats not too bad is it?
I think im going to build myself a pulling hitch now!
I will post a video soon.
