2 turns down on the afc screw
2 turns down on the starwheel
110 deegree advance on fuel pin
3.5 turns on the power screw
timing bumped 1/8"

So your saying that if it goes 16.5-6 I should jump for joy.

I have no idea how to launch this thing. I live in town and have no where to practice. Guess I'll just mat and back out if have too.

Should I hold the shifts until I see the boost falling off or just let it shift itself?

Powerbrake it to 3-5 psi for the launch - unless that blows the tires away. Let it shift for itself, take advantage of the torque.

Let it shift on its own. When I had the open diff in my truck I would leave the line from idle, pedal to the floor, let it build some boost and just before the "tire" would spin I would let up all the way on the go pedal and then put it right back down to the floor. That was when my truck was making less power also.

Id say build 2-3 lbs of boost, and just experiment at the drag strip. You may burn the tires some, but a little bark wont hurt anything as long as it doesent roast them. When i went to the drag strip and was launching with about 3psi in 2wd it would burn them a little, and then hook and go. At first i tried 10psi in 2wd That was fun. Burnt the crap outta the tires. I launch in 4wd now at 10psi, but dont want to go any further for fear of breaking the input shaft. Thats what it takes is experimenting, and examination of 60ft times to get it to do the best. You may be into 16.5's. I just really couldnt tell you, as i havent really ridden in any modded 1st gen's. Only thing you can do is run it and see. Im with the rest. Let it shift on its own. You need to be as close to the peak torque as you can get, so let er shift. Might try launching at 6-8psi and then instead of matting it, just roll into the throttle slow enough to keep it from spinning. never tried it, but that is what you have to do, is experiment. Good luck Let us know how it does if u go.

I got one run waiting 3 hours. Well I ran 16.25@79.25, .300 reaction, 2.6/60', 10.40 1/8th. Idled off the line. I would have ran over 80 but I lifted thinking that I had passed the line. The camaro beside me confused me because he quit early. I have a video but its 37 megs because I didn't shut it off after the run was over. I think I could pull 15.7s with the all the extra weight out of the truck, and a set of 285s out back. 3lbs of boost and I get wheel spin.

Not bad at all! Better than i figured. Thats a pretty good time. Im going to go back hopefully soon, and try to break into 15's. Had a full tank of fuel, and a bunch of junk in the back last time.

Those are some good numbers. Get yourself a posi, I gained 7 tenths by getting rid of the open diff, and thats with 235's. Although I can still easily spin the tires through first and part of second, so its time for a set of DOT slicks. Then I gotta finish hookin up my water/meth and get a taller gov spring, should put me in the solid 13's.

The other guy quit at the eighth. He trapped at 4* mph. I'm going to try to find some 265 or 285s this week and break the 15s.

You should be able to run easy 15s with traction and a better 60 foot time. 2.6 is a lousy 60 foot. Are you running out at KCIR?

Yes I ran at KCIR. I made one run and it cost me 20.00 to get in. I was somewhat perturbed. First guy in line at the cutoff. They need some way of telling you your not going to run. I waited in line for an hour and half for my second run and got sent home. Really annoying. I was there three hours made one run. The motorcycles on the other hand Get double the runs the cars get. That really irritated me.
