The 3rd gen lights look pretty large in there..LOL...
I would be interested in that project also...

I just had to find out what dodge charges for a sport grill and the frame....Good old dealerships get me sick....For the whole works..............$1,082.06....At LMC the whole works is $215US....I contacted LMC to see what the shipping charges are.I cancelled one order from LMC a while back because a $60 part would of cost $50 in shipping and that was through general mail...Will see the rate on this one...

This is a better option as you can use better wire than the LMC one and make it the correct length.

Heres an issue though - for the guys with older trucks - using the LMC Harness disables the daytime running lights. I would think many of the older trucks will soon face inspections for insurance purposes...something to think about.

Yes. The factory wiring and switching system is pretty puny. Most report just upgrading the harness is as much as or better than putting in better bulbs. I figure if I can up grade the harness with the Silverstar Ultras it should be night and day (no pun intended).

DRL might be a safety issue, but I have not had the system active for 3 years now. IF you look at the POS system GM uses with the little 1156 bulbs, DRL could be as easy to fab up with a couple LED's and a small hole drilled in the lense. There isn't any stipulation I can read that states how many lumins the DRL has to be.. Not worried.

Actually my DRL's have come back on withthe LMC harness. There must be just enough juice there to trigger the relay. The LMC harness was like putting in brighter bulbs since they are getting the full 12v now

Dave, the truck is gonna turn out awesome. I liked the look of the sport over the crome (I'm bias to sports) What are you doing with the aluminum box liner? You could polish up the aluminum, clear coat it. Mega shine buddy. I got my dad's old 01 tunnel cover, 40 gallon slip and tool box. I'm gonna either chrome it or power coat everthing. I always want my dad old tunnel cover. Cheap, I bet its only gonna cost me around $200. Cheap consider that stuff new would cost some serious $$$.

Ok guys, correct me if I'm wrong.........

Obviously the LMC harness will work on my truck, correct? I'm not worried about the DRL's, I drive with all the lights on anyways.

Now because I have to replace a headlight, if I was to take this opportunity and "upgrade" to the Sport headlights, is it a plug and play thing if I go with the LMC harness?

The catalog says that 2 different harnesses are needed for Sport models. Will these 2 harnesses plug into my trucks existing harness or am I needing to do some cutting?

I've never looked into changing to Sport headlights so please excuse my ignorance.

I'll trade you an old wornout flimsy dodge plastic box liner for that nice aluminum liner. If I was you, I would keep it the aluminum liner. I've always wanted the full aluminum liner or the full wood liner. I haul stuff once in while, I don't like the plastic as the stuff slides around to much. The bed liner is too thin I put dents into it or scratch into the metal. I guess I might be cheap skate, I just get everyone used stuff. I see Fred truck, I kinda want the racks but its kinda hard to get my stuff out of the truck. Those hooks on the side of your box, its nice stuff. Sure beats the stock stuff.

I have a link on my other computer for a harness premade for converting to sport headlights, and its a relay system. Was about $70 IIRC. Next time I'm over at my parents place, I'll post it up.

You know,, all you really need is some relays and you will be able to you use your stock wiring system no problem. Have the factory wiring harness as the trigger, easy peasy

Hey Tate

Is this the Stern lighting harness your talking about? If it is, I have an email to him as we speak. I'll let everyone know what I find out.
