My brother tried airbags on his F150 and was actually successful in rubbing a hole in not one, but both....trapped gravel was the culprit as we never really had mud at that time. The constant mud/snow/gravel bath is brutal-I am with you on the FASS system-the only way I figure something like that can live and prosper is with some sort of fabricated cover and constant prayers... I managed to disintegrate my BD brake even after I mounted it beside the transfer case, protected by the crossmember and assured by the PDR boys that nobody had ever had trouble with it mounted like that -I should have figured out a way to mount it under the hood...
Assuming the new truck is working out good for you otherwise? I am going to run this old girl until it's completely dead and then decide whether I'm continuing this or not....over the last couple years most of the steering/suspension/driveline has been rebuilt so it should hang in for a while yet....
Have a good one John-maybe one of these days we'll catch up to each other again at a GTG...

from what i know about carbon steel re arching them will only make them worse in the end. a proper set of bags and or new leaf springs would be the way to go. carli long travel air bags would be my pick with a price of corse. i went with carli on my truck and some kore control arms
