oh man that really bites. there was a situation like that over here at the ranch by the brazos river. Three guys got there f150 and jeeps with big tires stuck trying to cross the river. Then they were knocking on our front door trying to get us to go get them out. Long story short three more guys went to go get them out and they got stuck too, the guy with the F150 got a buddy of his to get him out and pulled out the jeeps too, and guess what........ They left them in the river to fend for themselves.

we got them winched out.

Mocho, what are you saying exactly? the frame broke on the '53 dodge on the 16r20 Michelin ZXLs. after that it was parted out, and hasn't had a functioning big truck since. he picked up a British miitary 8ton Bedford while back. we parted that thing out though.

Mmm maybe thinking of a different vehicle, it was quite a while ago though. I cannot remember what it was exactly, but it was a big yellow beast. I was 99% sure it was lemon aide jays old rig.

I'm not sure what you're thinking about exactly. It might be. but he doesn't have anything else crazy like your talking about.

but Jays been a friend for lots of years now. i can tell you anything you want to know about the truck. I worked on it enough too. the 53" Michelins and stazworks 20" double beadlocks used to be mine. and went on the big truck, 1 season after the rockwells went under it. then we cut the treads on the XZLs and then they ROCKED. wheeled the entire maylong weekend that year with 0 psi in the tires. liked pulled the valve stem cores to deflate them all. then ran 3 days to soften up the sidewalls.

K, is ALEX HERE, BIT TIPSY AND TIRED AFTER 32 hrs since this whole crap started.
Got a call from a last employee/tennant that decided to go 4 wheel driving with no backup at midnight.
He drove his explorer in a 3-4 ft deep ravine
I got sucked trying to get close enough to yank him out.
Here comes the better part. He calls a buddy to help, I ask for a shovel, 1hr later they came out with an explorer with street wheeels to pull out my 2500.......The shovel was a plastic snow shovel.......
It does get better....
By 3:30 PM another friend of his promises a mud bogger with winch......
I;m watching the sky go black and ask over and over, are you sure they're coming......... Some 4 wheelers with their jeeps try to yank me out with no avail.
Still no sign of the mud bogger.
By now is 7 PM and the jeeps get him out.
I'm wet to the bone, his GF is keeping the window down, mud goes all over my 70k truck upholstery....
We go to the main road to wait fo the mud bogger, by 9 PM the buddy shows up with - surprise a cherokee with street tires....
Ask him to go driving around looking for a mud bogger he calls his GF and I hear him telling her how he's gonna drop me off and be home for supper in 20-30 mins.....
I feel like choking him, and everyone involved.
At 5 PM I would've still be able to get help, it was still fairly dry.
Get home, post a thread on the diesel heads forum, got an answer from Fred (THANX), HE COMES right away to help.
Well, he got stucked too, we slept in our trucks.
Next morning, Call the guy that got me stucked.
Over. And over .for hrs.
At noon, after we got a whole bunch of people coming to help, coffee thanx to Brian,.beer, food on the way, he tells me that the mud bugger guy wants $100 and his buddy wants another $100 as a finders fee, adn I should pay the $200.
I told him we're ok by now but he could bring a case of beer and some smokes.
He comes and ask to be paid for the beer and smokes......Is no longer his truck that is stucked now........
Too many witnesses, too many nice guys around......
So, on my brand new 2010 with 2,000km I broke my bumper, trashed my interior, got endebted to all diesel heads on line, got to help Fred fix his rear axle problem.....All to get a $1,000 explorer out, after I relied on his word that I'd get help.
Could've been out easily before the storm hit....
And a 24 case of beer was too much to ask?
Seriously, if you're not driving a diesel, dont expect me to go out of my way anymore........
Did I mentioned that while we were still there he went and did it again? Anyone has the vid of the idiot plunging in the mud?
I asked the guys to just leave him there, but they pulled him out after all.......... We should've charged him the $200 he wanted from me.....

I saw at least 1/2dozen cam phones going while we were extracting. someone will nail good footage. nothing spectacular. just long hard double line winching. basically.

heres the fleet after we got everyone out. I was winching I didn't get any action shots.

Mocho, this is what Jays truck looked like right up until its demise.......

I had a similar story but with snow . I was travelling back from Vancouver. I stop over night at Golden, that night it snows about 2ft. They closed the trans canada hiway for a few hours. It was about -30 deg's C outside, darn cold. When the road opened, it started to snow again pretty heavy. I got going on the road, with no issues with snow. I found three kids 16 years old (snow boarders), stuck on the side of the road in some deep snow around the West Lake Louise area. I stop to pull them out. I pull the truck out of the snow bank but in the got stuck in the process unhooking my truck. They took off and never helped me out or offered any assistance. I had to walk back to the hotel about 2-3 miles down the road. I had to call a tow truck out of Canmore. 6hrs later a tow truck shows up, by now I stuck down into the ditch pretty good. $250 later, I'm back driving home.

I'm glad everything worked out for ya.
