No headlights while moving...

ok fellas help me out here I have headlights both high and low when the truck hasn't moved since being started. ONce I move the headlights go to the DRL and if you pull back the high beams it just flashes and won't stay on. Everything works while the truck is not moving with the parking brake on or off just acts up after moving. Is there a sensor I am not aware of somewhere?

Jason

the DRL module is basically on the driverside inner fender under the master cylinder-ish.

If you don't wanttop repalce the DRL module you can just jumper pins 1&4 on the plug to make the high beam indicator work again..

C\It happened to me once & it was a bad ground,
You can test it real easy by hooking a battery jumper cable from the frame to the neg post.

My headlights don't comeon when my emerg brake is depressed. Sometimes my e light doesn't come on either. so give that a shoot.

Hows the truck running beside the lighting stuff?

Hey Mike I am still prowling around here, if the red deer meet works I am going to try and make it up its been a long time since I have seen the boys.I haven't even met many of the newer guys.

Truck is good although the only thing that gets it warm egt wise these days is pulling the boat to the lake a couple times a week. However its getting close to tire replacement so you know what that means...the last time I drove it in with steel hanging outof the tires

I figured it was that DRL module however with a older truck ask the question being someone has had the problem already and it cuts the fixing time down! Everyone around me is suggesting the old girl gets put to pasture but with no rust and only 256,000km on it why do I need to replace it plus it took me 8 years to mold the drivers seat to my a$$ it fits perfect.

Thanks for the help fellas.

Greenworks, what would you replace it with? A new truck, you should see what it takes to run with the older stuff. The more I look at what it takes to remove all that emission junk and what its gonna cost me at the end of the day, the 02 starts looking pretty cheap. I bought a new truck cause my 08 1/2ton hemi lease is done, and the rig gets 14 mpg, empty, and just good for hauling my butt to work. They gave full list price on my lease and gave me almost $10k off a new one, and its a diesel (last year I didn't have the $$$). I just put 2800km in four days on my truck, so the seat is just getting broken in on my truck as well. I averaged around 20mpg (hauling 1500lbs in the bed), try that with a new ride. And you know how good that the warranty is on the new stuff, and you should see how much soot goes inside the engine, yuch. My new truck is gonna have its emission warranty voided within 10km of the dealership.

Don't buy a new one....You will fall over when you get the price....I think it was around $145...Go to your local scrap yard or pick and pull and get one there...These DLM are all the same and doesn't matter if its from a dodge, plymouth or cryslar.I got mine from a plymouth mini van....Costed me $10.00.....Now you own me a beer...

And the jumper of pins doesn't work on an 01. The Dash is LED and the jumper doesn't ground the indicator properly.

Toss the DRL in the trash.. IMHO
