Lumber prices in Edmonton?

If possible could you guys in Edmonton keep your eyes open for some good deals on lumber, especially 2x4 and 2x6? As you can imagine prices are quite high here and I feel that with the qty I need to buy it will be worth it to drive to Edmonton

Thanks in advance

Kevin

I can go to Home Depot and get some prices for you if that helps. Need more specifics on exactly what you want - lengths and such if that matters.

I can't recall the name of the place, but one of the stores in St. Albert has a great rep for lower pricing. Might be best to put together a list and then do some calling.

Try the farm outlets. The co-op in Boyle comes to mind. Usually beat the big stores on building materials. When I built my garage nobody else could do a better price.

2x4x8's are selling for just around $1.95 down here. Drywall's under $10 a sheet again as well.

Nice, want to send some of that pricing this way?

Couple years ago, a local roofing company got a contract to do a medium sized school re-roof. After contacting local building suppliers about pricing, I made some calls to Edmonton. When the dust settled, we got a super B load of shingles, peel 'n'stick, fasteners, etc. Get this, price, INCLUDING FREIGHT, was almost $8500 cheaper than the lowest of the locals.

Gouge much?

Although I am not a fan of Totom, they keep their lumber outside so it stays straight and you only have to load it once, the price is also reasonable. When it comes to shingles Roofmart last year was $5 a bundle of 25year 3 tab cheaper than home depot.
