45s suck just not strong. straights with SS wire reinforced are much stronger.

if theres any way to re configure to use only straight boots you might be further ahead.

like these.

I agree luke, just no time, no skill, and no tools.. what I am going to do is take the new boots that I have, which are now proper ones from JB's supposed to handle 150 psi. I am going to wrap them with Duct tape,, and then I am going to use a liberal ammount of T clamps. that should hold them for the weekend. I hope

Kev, you should video the truck at the Grande Praire event. Watching the video, man you left pretty hard. You where on the way to a low et record, until that boot let go.

Its a pain in the you know when little stuff like this holding you back from a record pass.

I would be really surprised if you had any issues with the silicone 45's, I have personally used them at 70psi+

On a side note the 45's from Greggs were a Nelson air intake elbow (I happen to have a Greggs catalog at my desk). Did a quick search, and the manufacture has a note at the bottom of their listing saying: "*Not for use with pressure applications". Found that out the hard way...

Well duck tape will not work been there done that, the best tape to use is a fiber tape about 3/4 inch wide it has lengths of fiberglass embedded in it. Wrap your boots with that and you will not blow them up under any presser

That elbow of Luke's looks like the right outlet off the turbo, but the other end is too big for the IC. I also think we would still be in roughly the same position we are now, with having to do two 45's to get it to the IC. That turbo mount is low, and the IC is relatively high. If someone would have let me mount the turbo up high and run it backwards so we could do a hood stack, this wouldn't have been an issue . . .
