anyone have 6BT compression testing tooling?

still trying to pinpoint my high speed popping. the pump swap made 100% better but not cured. when I swap the injectors this week I'd like to test the holes while were in there. to rule out a bad hole/

12v compression tester for rent anyone?

not a chance.

between myself and Tate we checked and moved the timing 1/2 dozen times on the original injection pump. no change in running condition. we swapped the IP out on Wed this past week for his II reman'd dragon fly pump. now its 100x better............but not cured. next is injectors and comp test. then I'll be down to measuring the camshaft or pulling the head. but I'm hoping the injectors take care of it.

That popping sound is odd. I wonder how good is one of your cylinder valves or your pushrods are moving the valves. Thats the kinda of stuff can make you go crazy when your trying so hard to get the truck rolling again. I feel for ya buddy.

Thanks fellas, I'll comp test the holes when I swap Inj. if it doesn't clear up. I'll reset the valves and measure the cam lobes.

I hope it doesn't have to go any farther than swapping inj.

I would think that a cam issue would show itself at all rpm ranges, not just 2k+. That and the Ip swap helped it a fair amount. That points to a fuel issue to me, not an air issue.
